Everyone — Employee Handbook & Policies
The shared area for the whole team. This is a plain-language summary of the handbook highlights — if anything here and the signed handbook ever differ, the signed handbook and the office are the final word.
Employee Handbook
- Who we are We are Mr. Handyman of South Charlotte — the local team neighbors in South Charlotte, Matthews, Waxhaw, Fort Mill, and Rock Hill call for the jobs on their to-do lists: repairs, improvements, carpentry, drywall, doors, and more, done by our own uniformed service professionals.
- The Done Right Promise We promise our customers the job will be done right. If something about our work isn't right, we come back and make it right — that's the promise behind every job with our name on it, and every one of us helps keep it.
- 1-year warranty Our work is backed by a 1-year warranty. If a customer calls about our work within that year, be gracious, thank them for letting us know, and get the details to the office the same day so we can schedule the follow-up.
- Safety first Safety comes before speed, every time — for you, for your teammates, and for the customer and their home. Use the right protective gear, don't take shortcuts with ladders, tools, or electricity, and speak up right away about anything that looks unsafe. Report every injury or near-miss to the office the same day, no matter how small.
- Uniforms & marked vehicles Show up in a clean Mr. Handyman uniform and drive a clean, marked vehicle. Our uniform and our trucks are how customers know the right person has arrived — wear them with pride and keep both presentable.
- Phones & customers Treat every customer the way you'd want to be treated in your own home: on time, courteous, and clear about what's happening. Keep personal phone use out of the customer's space, protect customer information, and never take photos inside a customer's home except for the job itself.
- Time off requests Need time off? Ask the office as early as you can — the more notice, the better we can cover the schedule. Put the request in writing so nothing gets lost, and wait for the office to confirm before you count on it.
- Paydays Paydays are every other Friday. Check your pay stub each payday and let the office know promptly if anything looks off so it can be looked into right away.
